Plot: Madison Van Buren is sick of her elite society centered life. After meeting Anna Fischer, who could be Madison's sister they decided to trade lives for a week. Anna goes to Madison's pent house in Manhattan, while Madison goes to Anna's Aunt house to help take care of Anna's little cousins. Both Madison and Anna will learn if they like their new life or old best.

Acts of Faith series book one:The Centurion's Wife

No copyright infringement intended. Image taken from

Author: Davis Bunn and Janette Oke

Genre :Biblical historical fiction

Plot: When Leah's family lose all their money she is sent to work at Pontuis Pilote's household. After working working for Pilote for several years Pilote decides to put Leah in strategic marriage to Alban, a centurion in the Roman army.
Leah doesn't want this marriage since her sisters were married to abusive strangers.
Could a dead prophet who people say is now again alive change Leah's outlook on everything-including marriage?

My rating: 6 out of 10.

Would I recommend this? Yes, especially to those who want to learn how people lived during Jesus' time.

Main Street (2004) Movie Review

Rated: PG

My rating: 7 out of 10

Plot: When Gus Leroy comes to the town of Duhran, South Carolina people mistrust him. Gus promises that is company can be jobs and wealth to the town, but can they really trust him?

Objectionable content: One character wears so low cut shirts. A man goes out on dates with women that work for him that don't know he's married. When he's 'finished' with them he fires the women( but nothing is shown about that).

Would I recommend this? Yes. It reminds me of a hallmark movie, but it isn't sappy. It's a movie that's relaxing to watch.

Nicholas Nickleby (2002) Movie Review

Rated: PG

My rating: 9

Plot: When Nicholas Nickleby's father dies Nicholas is sent to work at boys boarding school. While there Nicholas witnesses the extremely cruel way the school master treats the young boys.
He rescues the crippled boy, Smike , and they runaway to join a traveling play group.

Objectionable content: People are abused, especially Smike. In one scene a man hangs himself, but you only see him from the knees down. Kisses are exchanged between a couple. Some period naked statues and drawings are shown. A man tries to seduce a girl and he insists that she wants to 'make love' to him, but she refuses to accept his advances.

Would I recommend this movie? Yes, but to teens and adults for the thematic plot.

Doctor Who Season 1 Review

Rated : PG

Summary : After a mysterious man,who calls himself 'The Doctor',rescues Rose Tyler from harmful creatures she joins him on his adventures. They travel through time and space helping those they meet.

My rating : 8

Objectionable content : The words H*ll and D**n are used several times in most episodes. Violence is prevelant, but not gory. One man appears to be bisexual and kisses another man, much to the other man dismay. Rose's mother wears some low cut and form fitting outfits. Some wonder if Rose is The Doctor's concubine, but she isn't.

Would I reccomend this?  Yes,but to teens and adults as some episodes are scary and have thematic plots.

List of Movies and Books 2013

It looks like 2013 is going to be a year of a lot of  great entertainment.

Oz, the Great and the Powerful

This prequel to the Wizard of Oz looks it will be good, even though it seems a bit strange.

                   Jack the Giant Slayer

I love fairy tale adaptions! I hope it will be as good as it looks.

                          Thor:The Dark World

I enjoyed the first Thor movie,so I am looking forward to the sequel to it, although there is no trailer for it,yet.

            The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug

Although I didn't "love" The Hobbit:An unexpected Journey,I will watch the next part to The Hobbit Trilogy.

Sorry there aren't any cover pictures of the books. My computer doesn't want to upload pictures on blogger.

Tales of Goldstonewood book 5:Dragonwitch by Anne Elisabeth Stengl

I enjoyed the other four books very much,so I am looking forward to the last enstallment to be realesed this summer.

Sweet Sanctuary by Kim Vogel Sawyer

This book sounds like a good mix of mystery, romance, and unqieness.

Whispers on the Moor series book one:The  Heiress of Winterwood by Sarah E.Ladd

The cover to this book is thought provoking and looks like it's set during the regency time period.

The Cat that God sent by Jim Kraus

This sound like a funny and whimiscal book.

        Moonlight Masqurade by Ruth Axtell.

This mystery set in the regency period sounds like it would be a good read.

*To find out more abouth these books you can go on*

What Movies and books are you looking forward to this year?
